With over 250 miles of coastline, when it comes to beaches there are lots to choose from during your holiday in Cornwall.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet, secluded cove to while away the day on or a fun-filled afternoon of adrenalin-packed activities, here are just a few you can look forward to visiting.
Porth Joke Beach – also known as Polly Joke is a usually quiet beach just 5 miles away from Newquay. It is a fair walk from the car park to the beach and is a wonderful unspoilt sandy piece of paradise.
Greenaways Beach is near Polzeath at Trebethrick. It’s a little cove and accessed via steep steps down from the coast path.
Tregardock Beach is situated between Port Isaac and Tintagel and is quite difficult to access – which is probably why it is a fairly quiet beach. If you don’t mind a climb down across the rocks and enjoy exploring, this beach is worth a visit. Aim to arrive 2 hours before a spring tide and please do watch out for the incoming tide.
Polzeath Beach is literally one minute away from the holiday accommodation at Atlantic View Holidays. It is a popular beach and one of the safest on this stretch of coast. It’s a great family beach and has some brilliant surfing. The Rum Bar serves delicious drinks and has live music too.
Harlyn Bay – a spacious, sandy beach popular with surfers and families. It’s dog-friendly all year round and has rock pools, sand dunes and a small stream to play in.
Mawgan Porth Beach – a big sandy beach with numerous rock pools and caves to explore. Also popular with surfers and there is a pub in the village if you want to treat yourself to a refreshing drink and maybe a snack on the way home. This beach is also dog-friendly all year round.
